Scholarship

The Des Moines Valley Golf Club (DMVGC) has launched an endowed fund called the Des Moines Valley Scholarship Fund to support its scholarship program into perpetuity. Scholarships are awarded annually to underprivileged students of the community.

The window for this year’s scholarship application is now closed.

Eligibility & Requirements

Ethnic minority students in their senior year of high school living in the Des Moines metro area are encouraged to apply. To be considered, applicants must fill out the online application and provide all instructed additional documentation, including letters of recommendation, a high school transcript, an essay, and a photo.

After submitting your application, our Scholarship Committee will be in touch to schedule a face-to-face or Zoom interview. We look forward to reviewing your application.

Donate

By making a tax-deductible donation to the DMVGC, you’re helping to support the next generation. Every dollar you give will make a real difference in the lives of students and have an impact for generations.

We are also looking for matching grants for the $25,000 given by three donors to date. With a gift this size, the donor will be able to have a scholarship given in the name of their choice.

If paying a large sum at once is not possible, we welcome multi-year pledges and smaller donations of any size. What’s more is that your gifts are tax-deductible, as the DMVGC is a non-profit 501(c)(3)! For further information, please call or text Dr. Carline Phillips at 515-360-0437.

When I received this scholarship, it meant the absolute world to me. It meant that I am one step closer to fulfilling my dreams and goals that I put in front of me when my senior year started, which was to get into college.

Karriem MuhammedDMACC

I am honored and grateful to have received the ‘Des Moines Valley Golf Scholarship.’ I want to thank you for helping me by allowing me to continue my academics. This scholarship is taking a huge weight off my back and I will use this scholarship by majoring in mathematics and pre-engineering, and minoring in pre-med. I am lucky to be where I am today, but I am even luckier to be surrounded by people that want the best for me and to achieve more, and will help me along the way. Thank you, once again.

America Jarillo-Montero

I received this scholarship in 2022. This scholarship will allow me to further my education without worrying about having to pay for all of it or having to take out many of loans. I will be attending Southern University while majoring in nursing.
